It's your business. Start. Grow. Succeed.

It is so refreshing to be able to talk with other new entrepreneurs about concerns and triumphs in business because there are few other people who can understand. It is also great that we can have an interchange of ideas. -Florence Amundson, Mystic Dreams, Kamloops BC-

Terri Knox - Service Enhanced Training, Kelowna

Terri Knox

Terri Knox accumulated a wealth of experience while dealing with the public in her 22 years in the airline industry. When she left that industry she took the one thing with her that she was truly passionate about: offering exceptional service. Now she uses the lessons she learned to train clients across North America on the importance of teamwork and customer relations.

“I decided that I would go out into industries and deliver programs allowing individuals to invest into themselves, maximizing their potential which then results in delivering exceptional service!” says Knox.

Her business, Service Enhanced Training has now expanded to offer training, coaching, keynote speeches and even a book! Knox was also nominated as Female Entrepreneur of the Year.  “Being an entrepreneur gives me the opportunity to be in control of the successes I desire,” recognizes Knox.

While working towards those successes she was fortunate enough to have a mentor on her side. “If you look to someone for mentorship, I believe it has to be the sort of individual that you can trust as implacably as I trust my mentor,” Knox acknowledges of her mentor of 25 years. “She is a no-nonsense individual with amazing sensitivity who has me come up with my own answers. And when I need encouragement, she has been consistently there for me each and every time.”

Knox also has the insight to recognize that it is in fact her experiences with her mentor that has taught her to how to be a mentor for the Women’s Enterprise Centre’s Peer Mentoring Group in Kelowna. “I believe that the word ‘mentoring’ comes from the fact that a mentor is MEANT to enable you to grow and not to just enable you.”
